Our Tracker Organ

Thacher Hall's historic tracker organ
Thacher Hall's tracker pipe organ is the heart of our building. It was purchased in 1872 for what was then the Church of the New Jerusalem by Henry C. Thacher, a member of the congregation. The keys are made of ebony and ivory, with stop knobs inscribed using a method similar to scrimshaw. Each key is connected directly to the pipe valves by a thin wooden strip called a tracker.
In 2024-2026, the organ was removed and refurbished by the Andover Organ Co. at a cost of $215,000, thanks to the generosity of the Priestnal Family Memorial Trust, the Perera Family and scores of individual donors.
Please consider a gift to our organ maintenance fund so we can enjoy its sound for decades to come!
