Pride Month Movie Night

On Sunday the 29th from 7:30-9 PM in recognition of Pride Month, the Edward Gorey House and Thacher Hall will be screening the 1919 film Anders als die Andern (or, Different From the Others), co-written by (and featuring) the luminary Magnus Hirschfeld, director of the pioneering Institute for the Science of Sexuality. While this groundbreaking film ultimately ends in tragedy, it offers one of the first sympathetic portrayals of a gay couple in cinematic history. Anders als die Andern will be followed by The Eclipse, Or the Courtship of the Sun and Moon, a charming trick film that showcases an amorous liaison between an androgynous sun and moon as well as a beautiful assortment of falling stars.

Treats and snacks will be available for purchase at the concession stand, along with souvenir tickets and other selected merchandise. The festivities will take place at Thacher Hall.

Parking Note:  There is no parking at Thacher Hall. Ample parking is available just across Route 6A from Thacher Hall around the Common, as well as at The Gorey House, the Post Office, and the back part of Chapter House Inn's parking lot. Crossing attendants will be available to assist with crossing Route 6A at the designated crosswalk in front of Thacher Hall. Accessibility Note:  Thacher Hall is a historic building and is not accessible via wheelchair - a short flight of stairs is required for entrance into the Hall and the restrooms are located on the lower level (accessed via stairs).
