Join Sandwich Glass Museum Curator, Bonnie Lilienfeld, for an inside look at the role glass played in the life of Yarmouth colonists, including the lesser-known glass tax imposed them along with the famous tax on tea!


Bonnie Campbell Lilienfeld is Curator at the Sandwich Glass Museum & Historical Society, where she oversees the care, interpretation, and exhibition of the Museum’s collections. She previously served as Ceramics and Glass Curator and Associate Director at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, bringing extensive experience in American history, decorative arts and material culture. Her current work focuses on using objects to illuminate the history of glassmaking on Cape Cod and its lasting significance.

Special Instructions - PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING:

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the program to secure parking and check-in. Thacher Hall is located at 266 Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, MA 02675.

  • Parking Note: There is no parking at Thacher Hall. Parking is available just across Route 6A from Thacher Hall around the Common green, as well as at the Post Office, and Chapter House Inn. A crossing attendant will be available to assist with crossing Route 6A at the designated crosswalk in front of Thacher Hall. If you need accessible entry and parking information, please email info@hsoy.org.

  • Accessibility Note: This program will take place in the LOWER LEVEL of Thacher Hall. This part of the historic building is accessible via a ramp behind the building. The restrooms are located on this same floor. If you need accessible entry and parking information, please email info@hsoy.org.
