“M-Body” is a contemporary dance concert that brings to light the central place that our bodily selves occupy in our existence: in our thoughts, our identities, our behavior, our feelings, our social and cultural interactions with our surrounding world. In a time of so many activities that promote bodily “absence” or denial, such as those that make use of all sorts of screens, “M-Body” is a call to the importance of subjective bodily experiences.
Intrigued by cognitive embodiment theory, which sees bodily experience in relation to environments as the basis for one’s unique view and response to the world, M-Body is a projective choreographic exploration of body experience, biography, world view and art. Embodiment happens at the intersection of the physical, emotional, mental, where what we are thinking, feeling and doing finds alignment. Is it a question, a possibility, a goal, a projection?
With this thematic approach, and working with dancers from 9 to 60+, M-Body will be performed at Thacher Hall, Yarmouth on September 15th - 7:30 pm. Come join us… Everyone is welcome! Learn more about Movimento here
