One of the most famous and influential films to come out of interwar Germany, The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari is as visually striking as it is sinister. Widely considered to be one of the great progenitors of the film noir and horror genres, it follows the titular Dr. Caligari as he arrives in town with a box containing his strange, sleeping assistant. After a series of horrible crimes, Franzis, a close friend of one of the victims, rushes through the movie’s highly-stylized, hand-painted sets to investigate the mysterious doctor. But perhaps all is not quite as it seems…

Some Things to Know:

• We will have treats and snacks available at the concession stand, along with event-exclusive souvenir tickets and other selected merchandise.

• The festivities will take place at Thacher Hall, not at the House, so please do not try to enter or we will be forced to put you in The Oubliette.

• We recommend audience members refrain from being under 13 due to a preponderance of stabbing. However, you know your progeny better than we do.

• Full refunds are available until 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, July 25th. Half refunds are available until 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, July 30. We are unable to offer refunds after this period.

Parking Note:  There is no parking at Thacher Hall. Ample parking is available just across Route 6A from Thacher Hall around the Common, as well as at The Gorey House, the Post Office, and the back part of Chapter House Inn's parking lot. Crossing attendants will be available to assist with crossing Route 6A at the designated crosswalk in front of Thacher Hall. If you need accessible parking information, please email events@thacherhall.org.

Accessibility Note:  Thacher Hall is a historic building and is not accessible via wheelchair - a short flight of stairs is required for entrance into the Hall and the restrooms are located on the lower level (accessed via stairs).
